My son was up till about 3 o clock just not settling , constantly trying to get his sleeping bag off. I followed the grobag guide and as the room was 23 he was in a 1 tog and short sleeve vest but his arms felt freezing but his neck warm. Eventually the room went up to 24+ so changed him into a 0.5 as he was constantly trying to get his legs out. He kept waking after falling asleep wanting drink or BF.

but anyway he clearly didn’t like his legs covered , annoyingly our 2.5 tog opened at the bottom so you could let his feet breathe.

would it be possible for him to just Be in some baggy long pjs instead of a bag? I’m unsure of the tog equivalent etc.

then considered a blanket but wouldn’t he just kick it off?

shoukd I just try to persevere with the 0.5 as he’s gonna have many warm nights.

thanks in advance.

the room nearly hit 25 last night. Started at 23

Just a vest, or perhaps vest /PJ’s. Release the legs! 😂

I would have just had DD in PJS and nothing else, she was always hot at night. As a baby she was often just in a vest and then when I went to bed later on and it had cooled down, I might slip a thin blanket on.

Following as in the same boat! mine has been in a normal babygro and 0.5 sleeping bag this week and seems to be ok with it. We took him out of the sleeping bag one night and he was really restless, I think he's used to sleeping in it! I have also been wondering whether to ditch the babygros now and go for pyjamas...

No vest, just pj's and 1 tog sleeping bag here, with window open- that's for the 12 month old. 2yr old is no vest, shorts & tshirt style pj and she has her duvet but isn't generally under it

@shardlakem i tried earlier just a pj nap and I think he missed the bag. I was in Asda earlier and saw a 0.5 bag but that opened from the bottom instead of all my other bags that open from the top ( if that makes sense) so I can put him in it and open all the bottom so his legs can breathe. He’s currently in that and seems so much more settled than last night! 🤞then later once the temp cools I can zip it up if he’s cold. but will revert to pjs/ footless sleepsuit only tomorrow if he gets restless.

Thank you everyone, you’ve gave me lots of things to try. Wish our houses were better equipped for warm weather 🥵
