Losing milk teeth at 4

My 4.5 year unexpectedly lost a tooth today and its got me worried as it seems very young. Google tells me it's not unheard of at his age but it's a lower lateral incisor rather than the central ones which usually are the first to fall out. I've never noticed it being wobbly when brushing it so it was a massive shock when he was chewing his car seat strap and announced that his tooth was on the floor!

We will be ringing the dentist tomorrow to check but just wanted to see if people thought it looked like a naturally shed milk tooth? He's been to the dentist regularly and they always say he has good teeth. He's not knocked it on anything as far as we know and says it doesn't hurt. There was no blood or anything so I can't think that he could have knocked it out.

The bottom of the tooth looks thin and jagged around the edges like the root has naturally absorbed and its hollow inside like I remember my baby teeth being when they fell out. Its just so unexpected!

Any dentists about?

My daughter is 5 and had just lost her sixth baby tooth. She has two adult teeth fully grown in at the bottom, two top teeth half grown in and two at the sides at the bottom which are pushing the 7/8th baby teeth out. She had three teeth by the time she was four months old so (like me) she has just got them earlier. They have fallen out in the order they first grew in as a baby. There is nothing wrong with this at all as far as the dentist advises. Potential for overcrowding but possibly not. If she needs any removed to create space and a brace one day it’ll be like the majority of us!

Yes this. It’s normal my little boy lost three in his fourth year. I panicked as well!

My fist child lost her first tooth when 4 too, there was another pushing it through, you may be able to feel it under the gum
