When did you transition from potty to toilet?

DS (2.5) has been potty trained for a month now, all been very smooth sailing and never has any accidents. He will use the toilet no issues when the potty isn't directly available e.g a few times at swimming when he's needed to poo/wee we've just gone to the toilets and I've held him over as it's quicker than getting the potty out the locker and he is happy to do this, or when we're upstairs and his potty is downstairs and he needs to go he'll be happy to use the toilet with his seat attachment but often if he knows his potty is around he prefers to use that. I'm just wondering for others if you had an easy potty training experience how long did it take to switch from potty to toilet?

The carry potty is so handy for when we're out and about and there is no toilet nearby but also the toilet is much easier to just flush rather than having to keep emptying the potty. I would hope to make the transition but also take the potty out with us incase he needs to go and we're far away from the toilet but unsure if this would be confusing for him.

And also any tips on how you done the transition would be great!

Maybe just go cold turkey and get rid of the potty?

I never used a potty though, just the toilet seat insert at home, or held them on the loo if out and about.

Hi we went straight to toilet (other than when out and about when we used a potty). I think it was around the same age ie 2.5. I think just encourage to use the toilet and place a foot stool there and a toilet seat to help them sit in more easily. Hopefully not an issue.

for out and about we used a pottette - toilet seat and potty in 1, which made things really really easy

About 5 days until toilet training when DS announced that he was a Big Boy and therefore would be using the Big Toilet. He will still use the carry potty when out and about though.

Consistently from about age 3 at home but had been using public toilets or toilets in other people's houses since soon after being potty trained obviously. She was toilet trained at 26 months but was short, and we have super steep stairs so wasnt comfortable with her going up and down alone to the bathroom until she was 3.

Mine is 2 and 9 months and still prefers the potty (he does use the toilet too). I'd love him to outgrow it, but I'm sure it will come in time

I don't know how to use mums net to open new forums.
My daughter is 23 months, she used to be able to wee on the potty now she doesn't, and then wees in the nappy straight away after. I find myself actively saying to her "why did you not wee in the potty" despite my better judgement. She says "it's hard" which amazes me she has the insight to understand when she's not even two. The mother in law can do it easily, always sending me pictures of her potties and wee in them.
I find it so upsetting that I cry. I know the problem is me not her.
Anyone else have mental health problems they struggle to mask at times like this?
