I’ve only included things for you and your recovery not baby -

Anything high waisted

oversized baggy tshirts
big adult nappy pants. Get the biggest size so they don’t rub on your wound

pads in case yoh don’t like the nappy pants

huge knickers that go over your wound

long phone charger

water bottle so you can just close the cap and lay it on the bed that way you don’t have to keep stretching for a cup

take your own paracetamol and ibuprofen in case you’re waiting a long time for the midwives. Obviously if you do end up taking your own then tell them when they bring theirs

black towels. My hospital did provide towels but they were white.

huge loose fitting nighties

flip flops or slip on shoes so you don’t have to bend down to put them on

toothbrush, wash cloth, sponge, shower gel etc

snacks high in fibre to help bowel movements.

i struggled to get onto the toilets as stupidly they were quite high so instead I asked for a bedpan for the bathroom and held it in between my legs when I needed a wee (this meant doing it standing up but those first 24 hours were tough)

if you need to cough or sneeze hold a pillow on your belly. Once you’ve stood up, try and move around every hour or so, even just round your bed space.

Granny pants from M&S
snacks
Squash for the hospital water
Nightie with buttons for BF
vest tops and baggy/ stretchy bottoms or shorts if it’s warmer for when catheter is out
long phone charger

Trousers/leggings/PJ bottoms to go home in with a very stretchy waistband.

Big nightie so you don't have to pull up trousers over incision. Have it button upon for bf as pp said

My wife had an emergency c section last month, and one thing I bought for her wound is some sterile gauze from Boots. It was getting saturated with blood/serum and the midwives weren't changing it frequently enough. My wife found a breastfeeding pillow extremely comfortable to breast feed / hold baby.

Also for baby, if you are planning on bottle feeding / combo feeding I would recommend the 70ml Aptamil bottles which have a sterile teat included. Means you won't have to get up to sterilise bottles or prepare them.

My wife's stay in hospital was quite long, so I ended up bringing the electric bottle warmer in so we could heat bottles in her room.

Definitely lip balm. Mouth and lips are so dry after c section

Long charger cable and big granny pants
nice food and drinks but everyone needs those.
