16 month old does nothing

He can't pull himself to standing, he can't actually stand up even when placed there and holding on to something. He can't cruise, because he can't stand up. He obviously can't walk either. He doesn't have any words, he does babble. He can crawl but that's about it - honestly he seems more like an 8 month old than a 16 month old! When do I need to start worrying? I mean I already have tbh...

If you are concerned speak to your hv, that is what they are there for. If you are not able to get through to them go to the gp who can refer you if needed.
The fact he is crawling is reassuring as this requires everything to work and is quite hard work (I suggest you get on the floor and give it a go!) I think the normal range for walking is up to 18 months so definitely not in panic zone yet.
That said I don’t think the HV or GP would think it odd if you ask them.

Oh and I think words come a little later. Does he show interest in building blocks, cars etc?

My first walked early but hardly made a sound until over 2, but he never crawled. My second crawled from 8 months, babbled some at 16 months, walked a bit later. Have you tried a walker or one of these bouncers that go on door frame to get him using legs more.

Please see your HV, if you worried.

To give you some reassurance, my DS didn't walk until just over 2, and didn't sspeak 3- 4 word sentences until around 2.5 ... he was sent for developmental assessment by Nursery & HV.
But long story short, he's now a healthy & normal teenager!
