Nappies

My breastfed daughter is 4 months and has daily poonamis that, more often than not, go through her clothes. She wears size 3 Mamia - which seem to fit and she’s way below their maximum weight. But surely they shouldn’t keep leaking?

Does anyone have any advice?

How many poos is she doing per day -- no possibility of CMPA?

If it's just a general once a day poonami situation, then personally I move my daughter on to the next size as soon as she hits the minimum for the next size up, and there is often size overlap. I'd also make sure vests aren't too tight as this can affect the fit.

She does 1-3 per day. I'm not sure?

If she’s way below the maximum weight, is she also under the minimum? If the nappy is too big it’s likely to leak. Otherwise may need to try a few brands to find what fits her best.

Also, sorry posted too soon.. are you pulling the ruffles out at the sides and are her vests/babygrows a good fit so not compressing the nappy as it expands?

TheTigerWhoCameToEatMyHusband · 01/05/2024 11:42

Tescos are pretty good. also check her vest isn't too tight as that can mean there's no where for it to go other than out the sides or up the back. Mines 5 months and still leaks alot of the time.

I found the Mamia nappies rubbish past size 1/2 and they constantly leaked. Sainsburys and Rascal & Friends from Teaco size 3 are really good but checked she fits within the weight sizes!

Where are they leaking - from the legs or at the top? I always tried to find nappies with elastic for the back to prevent spillage that way

MalibuBarbieDreamHouse · 01/05/2024 15:47

Pampers have a back protection extra flap, which has saved us a few times if they are going up the back. If it’s leg, I’d look at sizing… but I have to say I’ve never rated Aldi nappies.
