I need help with my DDs hair

Hi all, I have a 4 year old DD, she has very thick curly hair, it’s also quite long. The curls don’t start at the top but a little further down. I don’t feel comfortable posting pics of my kids online but I’ll find a pic form google which is at least similar.
Either way she has now started swimming lessons on a Saturday morning, I want her to wear a swim cap as I don’t really want to wash her hair after swimming (I’ll do it in the evening instead), however I’m struggling to get all her hair in.
I also have a younger DD with curly hair but hers is a lot finer so a bit easier to handle.
We wash hair every other day and use a curl cream after, but I need advice, hair styles, products, routine, anything!!
The picture I’ve attached is very very similar to DD1s hair only hers is a bit longer!
Please help it’s stressing me so much!!

Plait it and pin it up before putting the cap on?

My daughter's thick Afro hair would have been braided and packed into the swimming cap. You can also look for bigger swim caps for dreadlocks for kids . Job done, easy peasy

Stop washing it every other day! Look at curly girl method.

I once bought a swimming cap from Amazon for thicker hair...might be more geared to adults.. but have a look anyway?

I’d love to but DD seems to always get something in her hair, food, paint, mud - she’s not the type of kid who can keep herself clean!

Definitely try and avoid washing every day if you can, it's no good for her hair.

You can get larger swim caps for kids with thick/curly hair.

How often should I aim for? We do every other day right now, what should we be aiming to get it down to?

A good cut will make a huge difference. My hair is similar to your dd’s - cut some if length off and cut lots of layers too. This lightens the hair and makes it curl better and it’s so much easier to wash, comb and manage
