To feel sad I have never been able to watch an episode of bluey!?

So this isn't a joke. I am genuinely saddened that I have not been able to experience the world of Bluey.... Everyone says how amazing it is and I'd love my DS to watch an episode with me, but he is CONSTANTLY making noise and doing anything physical, anything but watching TV!
Am I missing out!?

so he goes to bed at the same time as you?

generallycontent · 25/04/2024 16:32

I don't search for it on iplayer when he's in bed no, i guess my post is saying i wish my DS would appreciate and experience a bit of TV with me! And I'm sad that he's 4 and i still can't hear an episode of Bluey!

an odd thread 🤷

Tell him to shut up because you're trying to watch telly. If you can train that into him it will make the next 14 years living together much better. Grin

This.

How is he going to cope at school if you haven't taught him how to settle down and be quiet/focus? You need to help him do this asap.

Desperatelyneedabreak · 25/04/2024 16:53

Weird. I have 4 kids and none of them have ever watched it or been interested in it. Yet I keep hearing it all over SM what is so special about it? Even adults upset not to watch it, just turn the sound up?!

Desperatelyneedabreak · 25/04/2024 16:58

Just seen a woman saying she queued outside of Aldi (?) at 6am for bluey merchandise 🤦‍♀️

mynameiscalypso · 25/04/2024 23:10

My 4.5 year old has only got into Bluey in the last month. I have now watched all the episodes about 14 times and his favourite thing is to make us act them out with him. You still have time, don't worry!

Kindleonfire · 25/04/2024 23:14

My kids outgrew ceebeebies before Bluey. I do not understand your pain.

I do sometimes miss in the night garden with Iggle Piggle and his wee sail and light.

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 25/04/2024 23:20

Just tell your son to sit down and stay still; or play quietly; or play in another room; or turn the TV volume up. There are millions of solutions to this!

Spudthespanner · 26/04/2024 08:52

What a bonkers thread. At 4 years old tell him to be quiet or go to his room and play for a bit so you can watch cartoons if you want 🤷🏻‍♀️

I put it on once for my toddler and he hated it and I agreed. They were all shouting and bawling at each other. No one was talking at a normal volume. I hate programmes like that.

That's not my experience of Bluey at all. Hardly any shouting I can think of

PhuckyNell · 26/04/2024 09:12

The one with the dads talking about the snip is my favourite. All my kids have left home 😂

Singleandproud · 26/04/2024 09:16

Just put the subtitles on. Having subtitles on when watching TV helps children learn to read anyway and is a good habit to get into.

We are well past the Bluey stage and DD and her friends in their mid teens were sat in the living room watching it the other day. I have no idea what the pull is but it certainly has something that appeals to people.

The dad had a sock puppet and they were all going mental. Shouting and talking over each other. They all sound loud and whiny to me. No one talking at a normal volume.

Unicorse! Ah yes. That was the dad deliberately playing with a really annoying character he invented. Far from the average episode but has its place.

Dayfurrrrit · 26/04/2024 13:16

I keep trying to get mine into it but at nearly 6 and 3 neither could get past one episode sadly! Instead I’ve seen hot wheels, spidey, action pack and pj masks more times than I would like. I think maybe I didn’t introduce it early enough to get them into it before they realised other things were out there!

Peonies12 · 26/04/2024 13:19

Are you not working to get him to concentrate on watching the TV? Even if finding something else he is interested in.

NeedthatFridayfeeling · 26/04/2024 13:21

Just watch it alone, i do sometimes and my 7yr old still loves watching it. You have time to enjoy it with him.

OddityOddityOdd · 26/04/2024 13:24

If you have four year old who can't sit still & quiet for 10 mins, you have more to focus on than trying to watch Bluey.

OrlandointheWilderness · 26/04/2024 13:34

What is bluey?!?
