Ooo good question but I'm horrendously indecisive!!

My teenage years - no responsibilities, lived in a beautiful part of the country, had the types of friendships and a first love that in retrospect feels like it was straight out of dawsons creek, had some excellent education and travel opportunities which really set me up for....

...My 20's - travelled soooooooo much, seriously lived an incredibly adventurous life. I worked then travelled then worked then travelled. Met the best friends of my life, had some incredible jobs which started the career I've loved, 10 epic years, at the end of which i met my husband, which led to...
My 30's - which started with an unexpected pregnancy. Motherhood was not on my to do list but it has been the most healing and empowering journey. Honestly I am 4x the woman I was before I had kids. It took a lot of therapy and healing the inner child, but I'm just not sure I would have done it without that catalyst. Married an amazing man and whilst I seriously miss the travelling I'm experiencing a side to life which was never on my to do list and it's been the making of me.

There's been rocky times, have lost some pretty significant people, been in an abusive relationships lived in fricking horrendous house shares, had my heart broken, had jobs where I was taken advantage of and undervalued. But on the whole ite Fls impossible to choose one as best! Everyone says 40's are great, I'm hoping so as it's been a good innings so far.

how about you OP?

Please define 'best' and 'worst'....

Thepossibility · 21/04/2024 21:57

Best...after the age of 27 when I had my first child up until now (40's).
Worst 0-19 when I lived with one or the other of my parents. That feeling of being stuck and poor and hopeless, at the mercy of their shit decisions and attitudes.

My 30s - I was dating/got married/had dc1. Had dc1 aged 38 so most of the decade was spent as part of a happy couple, with plenty of time and finances for hobbies and socialising and travel. Did very well financially and career-wise. Mat leave with dc1 was amazing.

I'm 44 now and my 40s are going well so far - they could turn out to be better.

My teens were the worst - attempted suicide twice, had bad relationships, I felt very trapped.
