have decided to start dd's potty training proper this coming weekend, as dp will be off work for 2 weeks and will be able to help me out...

she's just turned 2 and is quite chunky for her age, so i guess i'd be looking for one of the larger sizes? Really need some advice on this, as have found some on mothercare but they're quite pricey and quite boring (just plain white rather than interesting colours). I realise i've left it a bit late to buy them, having set myself the target of starting next weekend. Any ideas about where to buy/which ones would be best, would be most welcome

I've heard good things about Bright Bots. You can get them loads of places online.

I would advise simply real pants (about 20 pairs) and get some bed mats or disposible changing mats for buggy, car seat, settee etc. Is she keen to start? Maybe go together to buy some special fancy pants.

One more thing I found with ds - if she does have a wee accident do make sure she uses the potty / toilet after. I found ds was only doing a bit of a trickle then stopping when realised what he was doing - then would maybe do it again in dry pants while I was busy mopping puddle.

Fun fun fun!!

I am hearing good feedback about diaperaps too.

You can get them from bumfluff

Bambino Mio were fine for Ds or Boots white towelling ones were ok too.

I thoroughly recommend the idea of cloth training pants - extra protection in case of accidents without the confusion that disposable pants bring as they are too much like nappies.
