Cmpa rash

Hi all,
Will be calling the gp this morning but does this look like a cmpa rash or eczema?. Ds is 6 weeks (formula fed on cow and gate comfort) and for the past couple days has been trumping a lot, less stools as usual (used to have a few a day but now he’s straining and crying while trying to go which is normally now once a day. He’s also arching back during feeds, scrunching his legs up, hiccuping after every feed and cries when laid down. Originally thought it might be reflux so mentioned to gp yesterday at his 6 week check up. He thought it was more likely colic as ds isn’t vomiting. I’ve tried bycycle legs/warm baths, elevating cot, gripe water sitting upright after feeds but doesn’t seem to be helping. He drinks about 4oz ever 2/3 hours.

This morning he’s woken up with a spotty rash over his torso, cheeks , arms and legs. Wondering if it looks like a cmpa allergy or would he have showed symptoms earlier if he had that? I haven’t used any scented/different lotions or detergent.

any advice appreciated :)

Silent reflux is very much a thing and is reflux without sick and your doctor should know that not all reflux results in vomit!
Reflux and cmpa go hand in hand.
My daughter started with symptoms at 1 week but it was 6 weeks before the reflux was obvious and about 10 weeks before the cmpa. She wasn't diagnosed until 17 weeks owing to very poor advice from our GP!
I would be going back to the gp

Thanks @Superscientist that’s what I was thinking too! Did your daughter have a similar rash? Bless them it’s awful seeing them in discomfort 😣

She gets a rash but it's not quite the same. Hers is a sandpaper rash which is very fine bumps that often aren't red but if you run your hand across her skin it feels like sandpaper.
She had every loose stools but she was on and off gaviscon which caused constipation and obscured some of this, we only realised once they improved. Her main symptom at point of diagnosis was barely consolable screaming but this wasn't really until 10 weeks onwards.
She had pretty bad reflux from 3 weeks which was a mix of regular and silent. More silent than anything else. My GP used to tell me reflux was just a washing issue. For me as it was mostly silent so didn't generate a lot of sick it was more of a screaming issue but she didn't get it. I wish I could go back in time and ask for a different GP and not assume they would all have the same point of view which wasn't the case
