What is the best performing Eco Disposable??

I am pg with my third baby. I used cloth nappies with the last two, but due to refurbishment works at just the wrong time, I will be living with my mother for the baby's first three months of life. She will not allow soiled nappies to be washed in her machine. So, I have decided to use eco disposables instead.

Can anyone recommend the best performing one?

Thanks!

I used Moltex, you can buy them in bulk. If you google Moltex should find a website. there was another brand too, got free samples but the sticky bit was not very sticky. Moltex were good for us.

Did you find they leaked at all? That's what I am worried about!

like mamatulip!

vote for moltex here too - just as good as major brands (just very expensive here in DK)

I've used Nature Baby and they have been just fine for both my DDs. I weish I had invested in cloth ones for my DD1 - it would have saved me a fortune!

Fillyjonk · 30/03/2008 20:31

moltex always leak for me, though i use them as I can get them at my local shop and would rather support them than sainsburys

my favourites though are tushies and if I could be bothered i'd stock up

very absorbant, don't leak.

IlanaK · 30/03/2008 20:32

Thanks everyone. It sounds like I might be best getting a pack of each and seeing which one suits better before ordering in bulk. I wonder if there is anywhere I can buy them in a shop. I live in central london if anyone can direct me!

(tell you what too-we've had to use only 50% cloth with dd2-we just CANNOT keep up with the laundry otherwise)

newgirl · 30/03/2008 20:34

nature babies are very very good

the only leak my dd had was once at night - the rest of the time was fine - especially in the first six months or so

Fillyjonk · 30/03/2008 20:34

ilana-I've used most brands of eco dispoables, I think. There is not THAT much to choose between them.

Sometimes, ALL nappies leak IMO, I'd say nature babies (easiest to get IMO) are easily as good as, say, pampers...

spicemonster · 30/03/2008 20:37

Nature don't leak any more than any other disposable. Actually I think they're better as they have less of those weird granule things in so if they do leak, they don't explode all over the place

moondog · 30/03/2008 20:42

Moltes weregewt.
What's with yer mother?

We have used nature baby nappies from 2 weeks with dd (2.2).
They have been brilliant- she just never leaks, never had nappy rash until 19mo, when she had a horrible tummy bug. She sleeps for 13 hours a night too, so they are 'full' when she gets up each morning.
They are pretty easy to get hold of.
I do think it depends on the shape of your baby though- one of her friends who is of a different build often leaked. They switched to cloth though

goingfor3 · 30/03/2008 20:45

IlanaK you can buy Tushies in Green Baby in Islington and Moltex in any chemist supplied by Unichem, you will probably have to order them in by they will arrive in store within a couple of days.

Fillyjonk · 30/03/2008 20:49

build important

mine are all skinny and moltex not good

but dd2 who is least skinny does best with them
