which nappies to use (nappy rash)

I have a 4 wk old who currently has a stubborn nappy rash and I want to experiment with different nappies, in case it's that as well (doubt it but who knows)
Currently using Peachies nappies, which are supposed to be very good organic etc
(I have also tried the Kit and Kin ones size 1, but they leaked)
Can you please recommend some other nappies?
Many thanks!

Pampers were always good for Dd with nappy rash.

Best thing you can do though is keep them out of nappies as much as you can. - pop them on a towel. Use a good barrier cream like metanium in the yellow tube after every change, and if you can express some breastmilk and use cotton wool to apply that, that alone healed up DD’s within a day.

Make sure you’re changing as soon as they’re wet/dirty so they don’t have a chance to have too much contact with the skin.

What are you cleaning them with? Hopefully just cotton wool and water, baby wipes are an issue.

Plenty of nappy free time.

Use a THIN layer of barrier cream.

Some babies react to all the chemicals in disposable nappies and then washables are the way forward.

Organic doesn't mean good for nappy rash.

To prevent and help cure nappy rash, you need breathability. Try Pampers yellow ones.

Once you have nappy rash, use metanium to clear it up. Once it's clear, a thin layer of bepanthen onto DRY skin after each change for a barrier.

Sounds daft with hindsight, but I didn't know I had to dry DC1 after using wet wipes... it was only when SIL helped me change him ca. six weeks old she gently suggested it might help and a lightbulb went on! Always gently pat dry with a soft muslin.

Pampers are good for nappy rash but I’ve also found Lidl and Sainsburys good.
With my first Lidl were best and as they’re cheap I changed him as soon as he wet. My second needed pampers as the only choice was pampers or asda in size 7 pull ups and she reacted to the asda ones!

We used aldi or Lidl without issues. Sainsbury causes an awful rash for both dds

Pampers.

The advice I also received from medics was not to keep changing brands while they are so young, as it can irritate them. For my 2 kids, we have used pampers for the first 2 months and then tried other brands for the daytime.

Other posters are spot on with the nappy free time advice.

For me I think it didn’t really come down to the brand as such but the process of changing as some PP have mentioned, always nice dry skin before applying barrier cream and the instant I saw a bit of redness I switched to metanium yellow cream.

My LO has never really suffered from nappy rash….but he would quite happily be naked all day if I let him! He was born in July last year and we had some heatwaves after and I think it was being nappy free so often than probably prevented it more than anything else. Lots of fresh air on the bum! It was easy when he’s tiny too, just pop a towel down.

It was years ago and I can’t remember which ones but one brand definitely aggravated my son’s nappy rash. Metanium cream is great but worth trying other nappy brands.
