stubborn nappy rash

my little 4 wk old girl has a nappy rash that wont go away, we have tried metanium cream for a week, we have tried nappy free time and drying her with the hair drier from really far away, she normally hates nappy changing but she likes the white noise of the hair dryer but when I told the Health Visitor that we do that, she freaked out and told me never to use the hair dryer again! But it was from really far away - anyway
Also the health visitor said it looks like thrush and I should get Canesten from the pharmacy, then another midwife said it doesn't look like thrush and that I should just use Sudocrem
I have tried weleda cream, metanium, sudocrem and now I got the canesten and just used it today twice
we use Peachies nappies, which seem good, we got a bulk order with a discount
Any advice on what to do? I feel terrible looking at her red bum!

How are you cleaning her? If you use wipes, switch to just water and cotton wool.

Have you tried this? Our DD had terrible nappy rash when she was a few weeks old and this was the only thing that cleared it! Always have it in now.
It's also on offer currently in asda for £3

Try another nappy brand too

IV always just used Vaseline and it’s always helped prevent rashes and rid any we had! Along with that gently use water wipes or cool boiled water and cotton buds to clean whilst it’s healing x

Take her to the GP

In my experience persistent nappy rash is usually fungal. We went to a pharmacist who gave us some cream which cleared it up right away.

Use reusable wipes. Just small
flannels basically. Just in warm water. Then dry bum with clean small
muslin cloth. Cheeky wipes are handy for lots of small cloths, you don’t need a set just wipes and run under warm water as needed.

Disposable wipes sting, dh used a water wipe once on his face for something after shaving that morning and said it stung like hell

Whisk the white of an egg until it thickens then apply to baby's bottom. It will dry to a shell like coating. You will see the redness fade and feel the heat from her bottom cool in minutes.

Try a different nappy brand. We found some gave my little one a rash, and some didn't.

We had the same problem starting at 5 days old, it got to the stage it was weeping pus. Steroid cream, sudocrem, mitanium, nappy free time, reusable nappies, water wipes all didn’t work. It turns out it was a symptom of his allergies. Anyway, what did work after 3 only days was vasaline along with cheeky wipes (the reusable ones), and eco by naty nappies. We now use Morrisons nappies but the eco ones were so much softer, the reusable ones stored the wetness next to his bum. Just make sure the bum is really dry before you put the Vaseline on, we use a wet cheeky wipe then a dry cheeky wipe to dry.
Just use Vaseline and cheeky wipes now. The wipes are also a lot cheaper once you’ve bout them. We don’t use the oils though, just have water in the clean box and wet a wipe as we use them.

We've used antifungal cream before on direction from the health visitor and pharmacy
Other times I've alternated metanium and vaseline as the health visitor said once the rawness is there metanium, sudocrem etc isn't enough to create a barrier but the vaseline does
Also use just water and cotton wool
Breast milk in the bath if breastfeeding?
