Is my baby behind in her development ?

My baby was born by c section when she was 37 weeks and 3 days
she is now 4 weeks old and still feeds every two hours even though I was reading that their stomach should be a big bigger by now
Is it because she was early ( while still considered ' term')?
Am I to expect other developmental things to be a bit behind too?

Not abnormal at all. Babies vary so much. This sounds completely normal

She wasn't born early enough to expect any specific development issues based on her age.

Hope that helps

Don't worry, this is completely normal at this point. I have a 3 yo DS and 8 week old DD and with both they went through the every 2 hourly feeding around 4-6 weeks. Even though their tummies are getting bigger, they are essentially going through such a growth spurt at this point they need milk more frequently to keep up with it. We are only recently out of this with DD who has now settled into a pattern of 5oz every 3-4 hours. Feed on demand, let your baby take as much as they need and don't stress, it will pass :)

My DS was born at 41 weeks and my DD was born at 38 weeks via c section too x

I have a 3 week old who was born early via c section and they eat every hour and a half - 2 hours. After speaking to my health visitor, she said this was completely normal and hopefully my little one will calm down with their feeds soon. She said as long as my little one isn’t showing signs of silent reflux then it sounds like a normal hungry baby

Hate to tell you this but I'm a fair bit older than your lovely new DD and I eat or drink at least every two hours during the day.

Feeding your baby on demand is what is recommended now. Hopefully she'll start doing some longer stretches at night when she's a little older. I'd get her outside in the morning, say around 7am for a few minutes to give her a blast of daylight so that she begins to tell the difference between day and night when she's a little older.

If you're BFing you could try learning to feed lying down so that you get some more rest.

No she’s not behind. My did this for the first few months, they’re all different.

My youngest fed every 2 hours, little snacks, until she weaned, so not necessarily a sign of her being behind.
