Mori clever sleeping bags

Hi all,

I was wondering if any Mumsnetters have used & would recommend the Mori clever sleeping bags? They seem quite good as they can be used from birth to 2 years, although a bit pricey!

Thanks!

Wow! Very pricey. Although I can see they're on sale on some websites and when you factor in buying multiples in different sizes as your child grows, they're actually probably cheaper in the long run.

I always had 2 sleeping bags at a time for mine. I'd be sure to have 2 or 3 of these.

Depending on where you live 1.5 tog is not year round. I've had 2.5 Tog before in the depths of Scottish winter. But I suppose you can always make sure they're adequately layered in their jammies and keep the heating at a constant cosy temperature.

Sleeping bags get expensive and I was very happy when my son moved onto a pillow and duvet set! I'd probably have gone for these if I'd known about them but definitely get 2 or 3 so you've always got one clean and dry while others are being laundered.

I tried them but I wasn’t a big fan.I first tried them at 6 months but found the arms too tight with the poppers done up and the neck hole too loose if they weren’t done up. They are also huge on a small baby which makes it a bit awkward for night time feeds and nappy changes.

For a newborn they may prefer a swaddle style sleeping bag anyway, either a Love to Dream with arms up or a Tommee Tippee with arms in. I didn’t end up using the 0-6 month sleeping bags I brought at all as we used Love to Dream (initially swaddles then the transition ones with arms out).

To save money on sleeping bags look at buying them second hand on Vinted as there are loads there. The Love to Dream ones hold their value quite well but can also be sold on for similar to what they were brought for and sone brands are really cheap second hand.

Yes I was thinking the upfront cost would be huge but then I wouldn’t have to buy so many new bags! Thanks for the tip on getting 2-3 bags, I’d be wondering how many to get!

Ah thank you, I’ll shop around for a different brand I think. There seem to be loads of brands that get decent reviews, I’ll definitely check out Love to Dream or TT!

I loved them!!!! Survived my 2 and now on second child of best friend! The car seat/pushchair clip is a game changer!

@FirstTimeMama8

I always had two sleeping bags at a time. They are an expensive purchase but I found them worth it.

However, like PP I wasn't using them in the newborn phase. My son also didn't take to swaddling. I even purchased special swaddle blankets for him. In the end we did a combination of co-sleeping and using the next-to-me and appropriate pyjamas/sleep suits and cellular blankets tucked under the mattress ended up being the best way to manage the change in temperature going from very cosy in bed with me, to sleeping in the next-to-me.

We muddled through til about 4 months old when I felt confident he could sleep safely on his stomach and his sleep improved overnight. No more co-sleeping 🙌🏻 He didn't go into sleeping bags til he was in his own room and cot at 8 months old.

You'll find it's a lot of trial and error. If you have any friends who have hand-me-downs for you, you could always try different things before you buy.

I got them when DS outgrew his love 2 dream newborn swaddles.
They were good but DS decided to never sleep in his buggy or car seat so the holes for the strap were never used.
We ended up having to sew all the holes up because at 18 months he learnt how to stick his foot through them when rolling around at night.
I think I bought 6 - 2 each in 3 different togs. We used them for about 21 months and I've just swapped to a bigger size but different brand at 24 months.

Absolutely love them, and they last for two years and wash really well, super comfy and all three of my kids have loved them. They’re expensive but last so long so worth it in my opinion

Loved sleeping bags, wouldn't need one to be new or clever.

Had one 0.5 tog, two 1.5 tog, two 2.5 tog and one big thick one! Of those the 0.5 and 2 of the others were travel ones so had the (rarely used) strap holes. We got most of ours second hand, but did buy two from H&M and at a glance I can't see how they're remarkably different other than the bamboo rather than cotton. They also had adjustable arm holes, two way zips and shoulder poppers. Guess if you have the cash then you do you, I certainly splashed out on certain things Vs saving on others. This just wouldn't have been the one for me
