will nippas be a nightmare with a toddler?

DD is 8 months and beginning to outgrow her size 1s- we have been using fluffles and I also have a couple of bambinex teddies. I love the Fluffles- which are nippa ones, have almost got used to her huge bottom and all the comments about her not rolling over because of her nappy . We don't have a tumble dryer so I want microfibre nappies and for the size 2s I was thinking a mixture of Fluffles/Teddies/and maybe also try a Nature Babies Lovable? or a Microdiddy. I like Nippas, but was wondering whether I will find it a total nightmare to get DD when she is older to lie still long enough to get the nappy done up? Should I go for Aplix instead (DH prefers this, IF he EVER puts on a cloth nappy , but I'm not so keen, plus they are more expensive, and I'm tight!)
Any advice before I part with my cash?

We use nippa bambinex for 19mth old, and it is hard getting him to lie still sometimes, but i think he'd be faster at ripping open aplix b4 I could get the wrap on!

Yep, I agree, it could work either way - she could not lay still long enough for the nippa to go on (although I bet you can put them on pretty quickly after the practice you have had ), or she could pull the aplix apart before you get the wrap around.

Just wanted to mention Little Lamb Microfibre nappies. They are really good but aplix only. My friend uses these and can put them on quickly with her DD standing up. IME the not 'submitting' for a nppy change is a phase they all go through but some seem to stick with it for a long time

The nippa ones fit better too, and last longer. Would always go for nippa personally as aplix is far to easy for pesky toddlers to get off!!

btw - don;t rule out popper fit either. Not usually the best option with microfibre I know but I found these worked best with my ultra-wriggly DD2 (albiet on hemp nappies).

I could popper them up before I 'caught' her and pull them up like pants or, if she was lying down and got up to run away half way through doing them up, the bits I had poppered up stayed poppered together (unlike aplix which fell open the moment she escaped).

Thanks for all your advice, I think I am going to go with mostly nippas. Off to spend lots of money on fluffy nappies

I have to use a nippa on ds' aplix nappies, or he undoes them before I can get the wrap on. If I was buying more, I'd definitely get nippas.

I had aplix size 1s and plumped for nippas in size 2 Tot's Fluffles and they're great.

DD can get the wrap off in seconds, but she's yet to get to grips with the nippas!

Only problem is that I keep losing nippas and it's a true pain in the butt if you find yourself without at a crucial moment...
