Moses Basket to Cot

Hello, my baby is nearly 16 weeks and is getting too big for her basket so I'm looking to transfer her to a small cot in my room. How well did your baby's transition to a cot? Did it improve their sleep? My daughter isn't good at night but rocking often helps, which is something I can't do in her cot.

Hi sorry I can’t help but I’m in a similar situation to you. Will need to transfer from Moses basket to cot sooner than expected and not sure how to go about it. Only have a large cot in seperate room so not sure if I need to buy an ‘imbetween’ cot. Thought we’d get longer out of the Moses basket!

I was hoping for six months but at nearly 4 months she seems far too snug in there. My mum has given me a space saver cot but I'm still concerned about her not being rocked. What's your baby like at night? Mine isn't great 😕

My LO went from Moses Basket to Next to Me at 3 months then into his big cot at 5 months (he rapidly outgrew the next to me)

I found his sleep dramatically improved with each transition, I think he was waking himself up hitting the sides of the basket and similar with the next to me. He does like to starfish though. I don’t think i did anything drastically different apart from starting off with naps in his big cot for a week or two and then put him down for night time after his usual routine. It was a bit uneventful really.

The next to me sounds like a good halfway thing!
My fellas ok at night, I don’t need to rock him to sleep but he will wake early regardless of hunger or not. Could set my clock by him waking at 2.30 every night for a feed and he’s up and awake regardless at 5.30am! Have you tried the white noise, moving lights things? I know you can get a rocking cot but quite spendy I’d say

My daughter is 17 weeks, we put her in the cot at about 12 weeks and haven't had any issues. Started by putting her in there for naps and then overnight after about a week. We keep all the bedroom doors open (quite a small house so even in her room she's only about 3m away from me) and have the monitor on. She sleeps so much better now she's not in our room as my partner (and probably me!) were waking her up snoring all the time. Good luck
