8 week old sleeping longer at night but worried he's not getting enough milk!

Pretty much as the title says!

My little man is 8 weeks today and a couple of nights ago, he started sleeping 6-8 hour stretches at night. He went to sleep around 8:20 last night and we actually woke him up at 3am to feed (I felt like 8 hours between feeds was too long) and he went back down until around 7am.

But I'm worried he's not getting enough milk during the day as now he's cut out his 11/11:30pm feed.

He takes between 6 and 7.5 oz around every 4 hours in the day and had 7.5oz at 3am last night. When he was last weighed last Tuesday he was 12lb 14oz, up from 8lb 11oz when he was born.

Do I need to bother waking him to feed in the night to feed? He does a lot of active sleep so tricks us a lot thinking he's awake but eyes are still closed and then he shuts up! I'm struggling whether to go on his age or weight to know how much he should be having. He is formula fed.

Any advice is appreciated 😊

Honestly, just feed on demand. He won't go hungry, he'll take what he needs. If he's sleeping that long, he's content and full. Enjoy the extra sleep as often babies regress at different times and you may be up in the night again before you know it!

Mine has slept 7pm-7am since 8 weeks. If weight gain is fine, no other health issues etc then it it's absolutely fine not to wake him.

Don't wake him. It's very usual when they formula fed.
My dd slept 7pm-7am from 12 weeks. Never had a problem with her weight gain. (I was breastfeeding during the day and formula fed at night before bed)
Formula fills them up, and some babies prefer big feeds rather than small ones.

Thanks everyone. I'm just worried he's not getting enough milk in the day with him skipping the night feeds.

I read on another forum one lady had a similar experience with her baby (but this was about 10 years ago) and put it down to leap 2 on wonder weeks. Could this be it?

He's been gaining weight lovely and I just don't want him to go backwards 🥺

He will wake up when he’s hungry. Try to sleep until he wakes up.
