Help-what's the pollen count been doing?

Hive mind! I've posted on the allergies and intolerances board but it's so quiet so thought I'd try here!

My little boy has had his first eczema flare today in a long while and, given his skin became very difficult to control at the same time last year, I wondered whether it might be to do with pollen. I checked the pollen count today and it said medium but I just wondered what has it been up until now as I haven't been checking? I noticed it's low for the next few days and it would be really really helpful to know if it's been medium before today?

For context he's under the allergy clinic and we're doing the milk ladder so it's really important we try and pin point triggers if at all possible although I know it's very difficult! He had skin prick testing for allergy to pollen last year which was negative but he was only 13 months and I'm not sure it always shows up when they're so young. Allergy clinic felt it might be to do with the air being more moist. Also, we're in the north and don't live in an overly leafy area if that makes any difference!!!!!

Any info much appreciated. Thanks so much x

My son with a tree pollen allergy has been suffering for a few weeks but it has got much worse in the last few days.

I have tree pollen hay fever and have been suffering for about a week now

If you are allergic to blossom it's shit right now.

You might want to pause at the point of the milk ladder you are on - e.g if you are on 1/2 biscuit but don't increase until the hay fever is more stable

Hay fever usually starts in their second summer. My daughter was August born and started at 10 months with grass pollen. This means it might have been too early for it to show up on the skin prick tests. I have had hay fever since being a young child particularly blossom and grasses and these didn't show up when I had skin prick tests and neither did cats and I'm allergic to them too. I have only had them once when trying to identify a food allergy.

@Superscientist thank you. Luckily we're up to milk (just having it with cereal rather than full cups) and have been doing that for a few weeks so hoping that means we can safely rule out milk x we'll still pause though before moving him on to full cups x

It's less about ruling out milk as the cause of the symptoms but the two together can be make things difficult to track. If antihistamines are given it might mask reactions to the higher levels of dairy or the presence of another allergen may make allergy symptoms appear with the milk which wouldn't be observed with the milk alone. Similarly you might need to drop the volume a little bit.
Getting to milk at 13 months is amazing progress! Hopefully you can complete the ladder once the hay fever has cleared up

I have no idea of the levels but as soon as the tree blossom starts I have hay fever. My hay fever will be over by the end of the June (we live very northernly).

Thanks everyone your replies have been super helpful x

@Superscientist he's 22 months now but he was 13 months when he had the tree pollen allergy testing, but yes we're really pleased with where we're up to! Xx
