Do you roll baby over if they sleep on their front?

Hi all, FTM here with a 7 months baby boy who has stared rolling both ways. Sometimes he falls asleep on his front, or rolls to his front during sleep. Are you supposed to roll them back to be on their back please? I tried it a few times but it inevitably wakes him up and he starts fussing, or just rolls to his front again soon after...

Thanks for any comments!

I didn't once they were able to role both ways.

No, the advice at the time mine were babies was if they could roll safely to their fronts, they are able to safely roll off if needed. For most babies, they can roll tummy to back first and back to tummy only later. A 7 month old will also have the head control to lift and move their head to breathe (unlike say a 2-3 month old). Mine were regularly sleeping on their fronts around that time and I left them be.

Once they’re strong enough to get there themselves it’s perfectly safe for them to sleep like that. Besides you can’t actually stop them- repositioning them every time would presumably involve staying awake all night watching the cot just in case!

Thank you all for the replies! I'll leave him to his own position then :)
