OK so..is there an 8 month sleep regression or is it a combination of learning to crawl/teething/separation anxiety?

Either way....SOS. please help/send suggestions I am seriously at the end of my tether

DD is now 8 months and her sleep is horrendous. She used to sleep 7-7 but since before Christmas when she was ill it has gone from bad to worse with multiple.wake ups/melt downs/fighting sleep

To say I've been through this all before with DD1 Who is now 6 and still doesn't sleep in her own bed I.dont want 2 non sleepers

I've tried the WIT and bought the just chill mama course and book...didn't work
I've tried (reluctantly) CIO but she just screams until I give in

Bought a black.out blind and a snooze shade for buggy and we use white noise

Currently having 2 naps.a day.one morning and one sort of lunch time.then outright refused to nap so.is going long periods of time without sleep till bed time at 645/7

Tried a schedule but with other daughters school pick ups/clubs it's a bit harder

ANY SUGGESTIONS WELCOME PLEASE I'm going back to work soon.and I'm.a nurse doing 14hr shifts I really.cant afford.to run on 3hrs sleep 😴 💤 😢

Thank you xx

Hi @Nem88 im sorry for how tough this is. And especially as your other child is also struggling with sleep.

can I ask how does your baby fall asleep? Is it independently? Ie. Put down in cot awake?

I have found that seems to be the most effective way of reducing wakeups.
its hard because you really want to intervene and just get them to sleep but letting them sleep independently helps.

im sorry if you have already tried this and im stating the obvious.

Hi @Pinklilly thanks for replying!
Definitely agree that getting baby to sleep independently is the way to go however I have tried at every nap.and it just leads to a meltdown!
Coupled with timings of dd1 I don't want to leave her on her own for too long and dd2 takes up a lot of my time already
So at the minute we're trying to put her in the cot, using the WIT technique but honestly just ends in us rocking her to sleep in the chair 😴😔

@Nem88 i completely understand that! Have you considered trying at sleep time instead? Might be easier as little one should be more tired and have the sleep pressure!
