Packed lunch ideas for 18 month old

She's just started play school and they have to have a packed lunch.

First day I sent her with rice veg etc in sauce- not touched.

Second day I sent her with cold pasta- not touched.

I guess it could also be a settling in thing and she'll eat it when she's more secure in the environment but I also feel like maybe she needs more "fun finger food"

Any ideas?????

Watching with interest. DC eats what we eat for dinner but I struggle with lunches (and they don’t even have to be packed lunches).

Today she had veggies and some of Mummy’s sushi.
She loves cheese and crackers but still pulls a cheese sandwich apart.
Mac and cheese (but I serve it hot).

Fruit for dessert. She loves fruit!

Sorry - other than fruit, those aren’t really ideas for you. I’m still watching with interest…

I think finger food is key. Vegi sticks, fruit - peeled and separated, pieces of cheese, crackers, bred sticks.

Savoury muffins
Sandwiches
Veg sticks
Fruit
Falafels with hummus
Quiche
There's a great healthy banana bread recipe online you can make for snacks. It has coconut oil and honey instead of sugar (assuming child is over 1) but you'll find loads on Google
Pin wheels with various fillings in puff pastry

Yes I just meant because of my comment about the honey

It's pretty normal for them not to eat their lunch properly when they first go to nursery- eventually they learn. Your best bet might be to try a bento approach- little bits of various things to tempt her into eating.

DD's might have some combo of raspberries, sliced grapes, pretzels, sandwich, crackers and cheese, salami slices, a yogurt, a mini soreen loaf, paparami, felafel, wraps, (cold) mini pizza, pasta salad, an apple, blueberries, a bagel with filling, mini cookies, veg and cheese muffin, pita break, hummus, red pepper and Philadelphia dip, carrot sticks, cucumber sticks, cherry tomatoes (sliced), sliced olives, rice salad, cream cheese and ham/salami pinwheels, dry cereal (her choice!), cold chicken/roast meat leftovers, cheese sticks...whatever is in the fridge/cupboard and suitable, really (we normally include a complex carb, a dairy protein, a non dairy protein, and at least one portion of both fruit and veg just to ensure she gets what she needs)

18m can have honey.

It under 1yr can't.

Yes. My comment said about the child being under 1. I didn't realise they were 18m hence my second comment about them being 18m

I don't think the 5am start with my 2.5 year old helped my clarity 🥴😂
