Best nappies for chunky thighs

My beautiful DD (6 months) has lovely chubby thighs. We’ve always used pampers with our elder DC and are using them again.

According to the weight chart she’s bang in the middle of size 3. However, the nappy is causing red indents on her bottom/thigh.

Before I go and buy size 4, I was wondering if there are brands that would fit her better and if anyone has any recommendations?

I never read the size charts. Just buy the size up. You can see yourself that they're not fitting well so I'd get her in the 4s.

Just to show how much they vary, my son was in 4s until he was over 2 years old. I only put him in 5s a few months ago. I've no idea what he weighs but he's bloody heavy. He's just fairly short, has never had a lot of chunky rolls even as a baby, and his shape fit in a 4 forever. I just go by how they fit to look at on him and as long as they hold everything in!

We also switched to pull ups very early on (pampers brand). As soon as I could I stopped using normal nappies. My son was on the move very early and I hated the tabs on normal nappies. Seemed uncomfortable, no give and stretch, and not very secure. The pull up pants have lovely, stretchy, comfy waistbands.

I use Pampers on my daughter but she is the opposite and very slim -also nearly 2 and still in a size 4. I tried loads of different nappies when she was born though to see what fit her best and I'm wondering if it might be worth you trying Sainsbury's own brand. I found them very generous around the legs, so much so that they were unusable on my daughter as they just leaked constantly, but perhaps they might work for you. I've got friends that rave about them and they are much cheaper than pampers too!

Yes I think ignore the size charts. My six month old is quite big but more tall than chunky and she's in size 4 pampers now. She mostly wears reusable nappies but when she's in disposables it's pampers and size 3 are too small now!

Thanks everyone. Will get some size 4s this weekend and see if they’re a better fit.

The Eco by Naty size 4 have worked well for us - DS2 (6 months, super chunky thighs) has been in them for about a month. They have a wide suggested range (7kg-17kg) and he wears them overnight with no leakage, and they seem comfortable. He wears Pampers pull ups (also size 4) during the day, because he's already crawling and very active, but even with those there's some red marks.
