9 month old fell off bed and was a tiny bit sick

So my 9 month old has just rolled off my bed which thankfully isn't high but she cried so hard when she did it. I've managed to calm her and as it was bed time when she fell she's now asleep after about 25 minutes.

The one thing that's panicking me is that she was a bit sick a few minutes after I lay her on my bed. Only the smallest and she had just had a bottle so it could just be that and it did seem like spit up as it didn't have the sicky smell yet but I don't know what to do. If I ring 111 I have a 3 year old and way of getting to hospital or anyone to look after my other lo. Should I just keep a really close eye on her or am I a horrible mum for not taking her A&e? She's absolutely fine in herself and was laughing and babbling before she went to sleep

I really would try and take her tbh as she was sick.

This is mostly going to come down to gut feeling as you know the situation and your baby best.

Things to consider-

Height of the bed / fall
Surface she landed on - carpet, hard floor etc.
How she landed - side, back, face down etc
Did she / could she have hit her head
Did you see her fall to know she didn't
Could she have lost consciousness
Did she cry instantly or was there
a delay - if a delay was it momentary like shock, or longer like she could have lost consciousness
How long did she cry
Any bumps, bruises
Can you move her arms and legs normally
Do you sleep in the same room
Will you be worried if you don't go

Similar thing happened to my 5 month old, he slipped and landed face down onto carpet. I knew better but left the room a few seconds to get something I needed for him - steps from the door and literally only 20-max 30 seconds.

Fortunately he was fine. My gut instinct was he didn't need to go to A+E but I was in absolute pieces that I'd let it happen and ended up taking him more to reassure my partner and myself that all was OK and I couldn't do anything more. I thought they would at least check his nose and face for fractures or bruising with him landing face down but they didn't, so in our case I could have trusted my gut.

I hope that helps a little.

Did you witness the fall? Did she cry instantaneously? Did she have any lumps or bumps on her head? What material is the floor?

Head injury related vomiting is profuse, and not usually a symptom presenting in isolation (without some loss of consciousness on impact, altered behaviour, etc).

111 will send you an ambulance, and an ambulance will insist on going to A&E. Obviously no one can advise you what's best but I would presume, were you genuinely concerned, you'd have already sought medical advice from 111/999.

This did massively help thank you

She fell face down onto a completely open so space so no chance of her falling on top or anything and I've checked all round her head and there's no signs of any impact

I was in the room with her when she fell and stupidly was sat on the edge of the bed before turning round to lie with her as she wasn't settling in her cot and before I could turn round it was just a loud thud then a cry instantly after. She cried for about 2 minutes and wanted lots of hugs and her dummy and that seemed to calm her. Limbs are all moving about fine and she would normally sleep in her own cot but I feel too guilty to move her out of my own bed!

Feeling like the shittiest mum ever, Mother's Day of all days!

Don't feel like that! Babies rolling off beds or similar is a rite of passage!
