Yes, grand idea! I am the only one in the library this morning, nobody making me feel guilty!

BBBee · 26/03/2008 09:41

hi, I'm trying to write 1 of 4 essays this morning, well at least add to what i have already started! i have 277 words of 2500
can i join you?

ChocolateRockingHorse · 26/03/2008 10:39

I need to be ploughing through my reading in advance of impending assignment.. but I think housework will prevail. I am living in a shit pit

Think we should have this thread running daily though.. to motivate each other.

Indith · 26/03/2008 10:49

Well I have 400 words of total rubbish. I hate this subject, I don't understand what I'm supposed to be doing and the only thing you ever get out of the tutor is "there are not right answers".

Anybody feel like writing it for me? I'll swap with someone....anyone?

Can we define translation as a linguistic process?

  • What are the key features in a linguistic science of translation?
  • Is translation only a linguistic matter?
  • How can we apply the translation strategies during an act of translation?
  • Can we apply any translation strategy consciously?
  • Do all issues of translation as a linguistic process refer to a universal affinity between
languages?
  • Is it possible to translate every component of a language?

Tis far more evil than it looks. Ah well I'm going to do another hour then check back in before doing the shopping for Rainbows tongiht and picking ds up. I'll be back this evening though, this thread shall be a good motivational tool!

dylsmum1998 · 26/03/2008 10:58

OOh no thank you Indith that looks nasty one to write. think I'll stick with the effects poverty has on dental caries even if i am struggling to find the info i need

BBBee · 26/03/2008 11:01

crikey indith - that looks heavy!

I spent that hour reading a wittgenstein paper - so no writing and it was heavy going. Good insight though.

Am doing 10 mins mnetting then back to it. Anyone fancy progress check at 12.30?

OP posts:
Indith · 26/03/2008 11:03

I shall leave a report a little earlier than that then I'll be back about 7.30 for the evening stretch. Had my 10 mins MN time so I'm hitting the books again!

BBBee · 26/03/2008 11:03

dyls mum - 600 words by lunch?

choc rock - one paper read by lunch?

me - another 600 words by lunch.

jofeb04 · 27/03/2008 17:15

Haven't done anything today. Hoping to proof-read two essays tonight - and write another 1000 words on the other one!

dylsmum1998 · 27/03/2008 22:52

i have just finished one of my 4 assignements i have to get done over the hols. so will be starting the next one in the morning. am trying to do them all before i go away for the week in a fortnight. then i can spend my time when i get back revising for my exam, which i am dreading i hate exams so much, would rather write 10 essays than sit an exam!!

littlewoman · 29/03/2008 16:58

Oh, I am so joining this idea when I next have an essay to do. Pure brilliance!
