Giving kids squash

Hey, so my 4.5 year old has always only had milk and water to drink. She'll have squash on occasion like at her Grandma's or at a soft play or party type thing or if she's ill. I've been really trying to avoid it generally to protect her teeth. I had to have mine removed because they rotted at age 5.

The only problem is she barely drinks when it's water, she will drink but will go hours without touching her bottle. She can go to preschool and come out having not had a single sip. She will only occasionally drink milk. It gets to bedtime and she is suddenly super thirsty. The times I've given her squash she'll drink the bottle in one go.

She's still wet overnight with the occasional accident during the day, and when reading up about it one of the suggestions was to make sure they drink plenty during the day.

So my question is, do I just give in and let her drink squash so she actually drinks it, or persevere with water? I really don't want to end up in a situation where she refuses water altogether.

I'm thinking maybe a compromise of one cup of squash a day with a meal and the rest water and see how that goes?

Thank you!

When my son was under eurensis for bed wetting they told us he had to drink 1.5 liters a day to increase his bladder capacity. It just wasn't big enough to last overnight

We swapped to sugar free squash to up his liquid consumption. He's now dry at night and back to water only except as a treat

If giver her weak sugar free squash or sugar free flavoured water is a good option
