Dribble rash or eczema? Worried mum

Hi all,
My 4 month old DD has a rash - pic below.
I thought it was dribble rash so I’ve been using moisturiser overnight and Vaseline in the day, but it’s not improving so now I’m not sure if it’s something else. My mum thinks it’s heat rash ?
DD did have some eczema behind her knees but this has cleared up in a week with Child’s farm moisturiser.
I don’t want to waste anyone’s time but wondering if a doctors appointment is required? Thanks all - worried mum x

Does she have any other symptoms? It looks like my DD’s eczema. She generally has that behind her knees and in folds of her arms (sweaty areas!). I would get a DR appointment anyway just to get her checked out x

Thanks your your response. No she’s her usual chirpy self, she is dribbling a lot so I assumed it was dribble rash but maybe not. I thought eczema was always sore/cracked skin but this is more pimply
I’ll call the docs tomorrow x

I think it looks like dripping rash. U want to get a good barrier cream so his dribbles just slide off the skin.

Hi all. Took her to the docs last week and they said it was dribble rash, told me to keep putting lansinoh or something else on it.
it hasn’t improved at all, I’ve tried lansinoh, bepenthen, Vaseline, Medela nappy cream… it doesn’t seem to be bothering her but it looks so sore 😞😞 can anyone recommend something else to try?
I tried a bit of sudocrem but her skin was dry in the morning and it looked even worse.

If the skin seems dry try Epaderm ointment - it's a barrier cream like vaseline but much better at moisturising.

Keep the area clean and dry, as much as you can.

If it doesn't clear, go back to the GP as it may need a steroid to clear up. They may be more likely to prescribe after you've tried a good bit of the milder stuff!

You don't need to be worrying or stressing about this, but it might be uncomfortable for the baby so best to get on top of it. Sometimes that takes a while with skin, it can be a case of trial and error and everyone's skin likes different products.

Both of mine had loads of eczema as babies, only small patches if anything now they're bigger, it's not a big deal.

Thank you for your post and kind words, I think I’m stressing too much over this, she is my first baby which is my excuse! I will try Epaderm and hope to see some improvement. I’m trying to let it breathe in the day time but if I go too long without putting something on it looks so sore 😞 x

I would keep applying the creams, but gently clean and pat dry in between applications so it doesn't build up on the skin.

But seriously, it's a pain in the arse rather than anything worth stressing over, you'll find the product that works for her eventually. Flowers

My daughter had a dribble rash like this. It flare up worse if I had eaten foods she was allergic too.
A paediatrician prescribed a fungal cream and that cleared it up in a few days

My daughter looked exactly like this, I went to the GP a few times. She had a steroid cream which cleared it up but as soon as I dropped down the applications as per instruction it came back, an antifungal steroid cream then did the job. Then it was manageable with aveeno eczema moisturizer at night and has been gone completely for months

My baby and now toddler is still such a dribbler! When I’m on top of it I use Vaseline / bepanthen as a barrier cream but when it gets a bit more irritated I like skin salvation balm from Holland and barratt ☺️
