We are about to start the application for DD3.5 EHCP with her nursery.

Are there any things you wish you had known before you started the process?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Provide as much evidence as you can. e.g. hospital letters, GP letters, sensory assessments, ADHD/autism diagnosis, as much information about your child and behaviour/sensory needs from the nursery staff.

You can speak to your local SENDIASS for free advice too.
Good luck. 💐

When DS was 11 I got a solicitor involved- along with private reports that was the best decision as DS then finally had a worthwhile EHCP.

Except to get it rejected first time and then win it on appeal. It's ridiculously annoying and I think recent stars are some thing like 96% are won at appeal/tribunal.

Remember that it's a legal document so avoid phrases such " may be unable to..." and use ones like "cannot do".
