Cows milk on the go?

Gigi00 · 26/02/2024 13:22

I have a 1 year old, who has a lunchtime milk warm.

Any suggestions on how to warm on the go?

Not looking for help on how to get him to stop because I'm sure it will tail off soon , but for now he wants it.

Thanks

Try room temp UHT 250mL cartons ?

Will he not be persuaded to have room temp formula? It’d be easiest to use one of those growing up milk cartons, because they don’t need refrigerating, then chuck it into a sippy cup when he wants it. Otherwise you have to keep the cows milk cold so it doesn’t spoil, then heat it if he won’t drink it that way, and I’m guessing he’s off bottles by now otherwise you’d just be using an icepack and bottle warmer (if not though just do that!)? Or going into a cafe for a pricy babycino is always an option 🤣

Warm some milk before you go out, put it in a thermos.

Babyccino is a good idea!!

I have considered taking warm milk but think it could only be kept for 2 hours?

Warm milk in a thermos? Will stay warm for ages

HiCandles · 26/02/2024 13:47

Take cold with a little ice pack in a chiller bag. Breastmilk can be kept out for 6 hours like that so I'd go by the same rule for cow's milk. When you need to warm, stand bottle/cup in a pot of hot water either obtained from cafe or taken in thermos with you depending where you are.
This is what I did for expressed breastmilk. Never had anywhere refuse to give hot water. Glass baby bottles heat up much quicker than plastic. Take lid/teat off to avoid pressure building inside.

Take some hot water in a flask or ask for some hot water in a cafe - add an ounce or so to the bottle of milk to warm it.

Just ask a cafe for some hot milk. They often have some leftover they’ve just made for a coffee.

Actually I’ve said pricy but the babycino is probably cheaper than growing up milk given the cost of formula these days!! Like you I feel a bit 🤢 at hours old warm milk so I’d probably do a thermos if we were out for 2 hours or less, and plan to a swing by a cafe of we were out longer. You do get bottle warmers obviously but I take it the issue is that he’s having a sippy cup now?
