Australia pram recommendations for 3 month old

Hi!

I am currently pregnant and will be travelling to Australia to stay with family when baby is 3 months old. Wondering what to do about a pram - and what the best one is for the journey? I’m assuming we can’t take a travel system.

We don’t have to worry about a car seat etc, as my cousins have young children and on that side of the water there is plenty. So no need for a frame with a car seat attachment. We will also taking a baby carrier, we would still like a comfortable pram for naps and long days though.

Has anyone any experiences?
thanks!

You can absolutely take your travel system - the base and bassinet. Gate check them if possible, check with your airline first!

Or get a foldable travel buggy with a lie flat seat for naps. You could also gate check this or theoretically take it onboard as cabin luggage. Obviously check with your airline for permitted dimensions of hand luggage and check the folded dimensions of the buggy. Advantage is you'd have the buggy for any layovers.

I would definitely consider one that you can take as hand luggage to make sure you have it for the layover, especially if it’s a long one or you get delayed. One of the newborn attachments for the Babyzen Yoyo folds down although it is an expensive stroller.

Of course you don’t know yet whether you and your baby will prefer the pram or sling. I never really got on with slings so the pram was essential to have with us during the layovers when we travelled to New Zealand.
