How much puree should a 6 month be having

I’m weaning my little girl on puree as she is no where near ready to start BLW

I am offering her breakfast and tea at the moment. She probably takes a couple of small spoons of the breakfast and then 5-6 small spoons of a puree at teatime.

Is that enough? I don’t know how much of the puree she should actually be eating and swallowing 😭

If that's what she is happy to take, then that's enough. 6 months is very young, so offering twice a day is absolutely plenty.

You just kind of give them as much as they’ll eat, and I’m sure she lets you know when she’s sick of it 😂

Dd was a tiny eater for months and months, as long as she’s still getting milk, which is still her main source of nutrition for another 6 months until she’s 1 it’s fine.

Feeding now is mainly about getting them used to textures and flavours, they don’t need a specific amount of food.

The recommendation from the NHS is to move to offering solids 3 times a day between 8 and 9 months so it sounds like she's having plenty!

There's some great suggestions of first foods to try in this guide from the Caroline Walker Trust Wink

We've been giving DD 4-6 tsp twice a day which she's loving, started by offering once a day for 10 days and then started offering twice a day. Baby porridge with her mid morning and veg puree at lunch bottle.
