Making bottles in advance

Hi , hoping someone can guide me please - I have been using a perfect prep indoors and ready made formula when out and about with my baby. However my baby has just been diagnosed with a milk allergy so have now been described powder only. Can I make a bottle using the perfect prep and then take out with me in a cool bag for four hours or store in a fridge for 24 hours? Would I make the bottle as normal and then put straight in a bowl of cool water to cool it and then then cool bag / fridge?

this should be so easy but I have got so used to just using ready made when out I feel a bit overwhelmed but don’t want to be trapped at home just because my perfect prep is at home as that would be madness

many thanks in advance

Your not supposed to. Any bottles are supposed to be discarded after 2 hours according to NHS guidance.

Buy a Nuby Rapid cool. They are around £25 and the best thing I've purchased, i wish it existed when I had my first.
Take a flask of hot water out, some formula and the rapid cool. When babies hungry make your formula up using the hot water (a good flask is needed to keep water at 70 degrees) then use the rapid cool to bring it down to temp.

thanks for the response so I suppose I could make one bottle to take out which would last 2 hours and then buy the rapid cool for the next feed while out - so should be able to stay out for around 5 hours

I used to create my own prep machine on the go. So I would take a flask of hot water and use that to kill the bacteria in the powder, and then I would take one or two cool boiled waters in sterilised bottles and top up the boiling water so it was the right temperature to drink.

@Emmacb82 thanks - I am finding this all so confusing- I know years ago everyone did just make their bottles in advance before perfect preps etc. how do you know your flask has kept the water at the right temp?

if I was making a 4oz bottle would I just do half boiling water and half cooled water? Sorry I know I sound stupid I am just so sleep deprived and struggling to get my head round this

Here's what I do, and if you use perfect prep machine at home it's no different.

We have a water filter jug at home (LARQ) - it's a higher quality filter than the tommee tippee filter in the perfect prep.

So I literally just take a bottle of filtered water out with me and you can get boiling water from anywhere there's cafes or restaurants so I just ask them.

Only time I've ever taken a flask for boiling water was on a hike.

@ChateauProvence yeah it doesn’t really matter about what quantity as long as the powder is dissolved properly in the boiling water, but yea I would say half and half would be ok just obviously test it before use which you would do! Most places you go have boiling water as pp have said so that’s always an option too if you’re concerned it’s been in the flask too long x
