Baby keeps rolling onto side and sliding towards non-mesh part of crib(she’s only 10 days old so shouldnt even roll yet). I see reviews on Amazon with same problem(crib was a gift). Can baby breathe through both sides? Seems really dangerous and stopping me getting some sleep! Has any-one had the same problem and everything was okay?
Doesnt look visible slanted, must be quite subtle.

I have the same crib and the same problem. I’ve taken it off the rock function to try and stabilise it but it is still tilted. If my baby is facing me she can roll (she’s 2 months and can actually do this to her right side) right over and into the fabric of the dropped lip, when I turn her so her head is beside mine she can’t seem to roll over to her right side. I wanted to try her lying this way so when she rolls it’s into the mesh and not a suffocation risk but the miniscule tilt must be enough to stop her. I’ve reached out to maxi cosi and they seem to be no help. Have you found a solution to this problem? I have had so many sleepless nights either worrying she’ll suffocate or because she wakes me because she can’t settle lying the other way. It’s a nightmare!!

If you put your mouth to the side of the crib, can you breathe through it? If so, your baby should be able to breathe and then cry if their face is against the side. But if you're anxious and not sleeping I would recommend buying another crib? Facebook has some good ones available most of the time or buy a new one?

Not being able to sleep when your baby is sleeping is the absolute worst feeling (been there due to other reasons) so in my eyes this is a spend the money situation and look to second hand sites/ask a friend who is keeping a crib for a future child to borrow it in the meantime if money is tight

Thank you so much for this reply, strangely enough I hadn’t even thought to try that and as a FTM I have done some bizarre things for the sake of my baby. I managed to get her to sleep for 5 hours facing the direction with her head beside mine so that when she rolls to her right it’s against the mesh. Surprisingly she didn’t roll over at all (so I think it’s down to the tilt) but she only grizzled a little bit. I have also messaged a friend to ask if she has her daughter’s old chicco next2me because they seem to have mesh on the dropped side also. I had the crib in my basket ready to buy last night but would rather avoid it if not necessary. I really like to think if the crib is to follow strict guidelines and be sleep safe, that there should be no issue but something in my gut just tells me it’s not right.

I also have this problem! Been trying to figure out for a few months what the issue is with this crib, I had my daughter in (3 months old) when she was first born in the pram but she would roll towards the side, and I ended up getting so worried after a few days that I started sleeping her in her wicker basket until last week. She’s now sleeping in the Maxi Cosi crib, but I’ve placed a blanket under the slanted side to raise it up slightly so that she doesn’t roll right over to the side. I’m guessing it must be a fault of the company, I think I might try and contact them through the week.

I'm having the same issue! Has Maxi Cosi gotten back to anyone?

Jessm24 · 25/04/2024 16:22

Just FYI they got back to me and are sending me out a new one

Maxi cosi admits that it is a design fault and I was eligible to return it through amazon BUT it is so slight that we elected to keep it as simply couldnt find anything better and as sturdy.
Sometimes I tuck slightly more of the cellular blanket under the right side.
Once the newborn curl stopped she stopped rolling to that side and the midwife and HV also thought it was a great crib.
Not sure if I’ll start worrying again once she can genuinely roll but for now okay with it.

Oh I didnt know that was an option . Assumed they all had the same fault. Did you purchase directly from them?

The new one was exactly the same! No, I purchased from Mama's and Papas I think
