Supermarket Fall

This morning I popped into my local supermarket & my son ended up having a fall on a large puddle of juice. Once I spoke to a member of staff they had explained how the puddle happened an hour before the incident and should have been cleaned up, however will be done right away which it was. This has resulted in my son getting quite a big bruise on his bottom.
I emailed the head office right away and they have replied to say they will be investigating this & would like to offer a good will gesture. What would be a reasonable amount to accept? If I should accept it? Should I make a complaint anywhere else?

Tia

That's a great result! As someone said upthread they will monitor that store for a while as well which is no bad thing.

That is my main priority right now. I don’t want especially an elderly person to have a fall.

Oh don’t be a martyr, if it’s a supermarket they make millions in profits it’s not actually cash out their pocket. Say “thank you very much” enjoy your free weeks shopping and buy your kid a toy at smyths and forget about it.

Yeah I'd accept. 100 quid is quite a lot more than I'd have been expecting in your shoes (I'd have thought 25 quid was reasonable)

If you don't want to accept the voucher, just give it to your local food bank

Dont be Grabby. Accept it with gratitude and move on.

That a good response from them. Yes I’d accept it, and I’m sure they’re delighted that this didn’t result in a serious injury for someone which would have cost them ££££££. No doubt there will be a lot of H&S training going on now in the store which is a good thing.

I would accept the £100 but would want to know they take this seriously and tgat training will result from it. If an elderly person ir someone with an existing injury had slipped in it it could have been awful.

Exactly my point of emailing them. It wasn’t to get any sort of compensation etc but aslong as they take it seriously & conduct proper training so it doesn’t reoccur.

I’ve emailed them and accepted the £100 gift card & also mentioned the training so hope they do take it seriously.
