Help a snotty baby sleep?

Does anyone have any pearls of wisdom on how to help a snotty baby sleep? DS is 6 months old and currently struggling with a cold and his teeth, and every night for the past 10ish nights just get so bunged up whenever we put him in his cot that his snot seems to catch in his throat, then he stops breathing briefly and wakes up crying. Tonight has been the worst, he’s gone into his cot for no longer than 20 minutes all night, is currently 4am and I’ve been holding him since 10pm.
We’ve tried saline up his nose, a snot sucker (that doesn’t seem to get anything out), the snuffle babes oil in the diffuser and putting the reflux foot onto his snuzpod so he’s tilted slightly. I’m at a loss for what else we can do, but I’m exhausted!

The only other thing I can think of is having the window open slightly?

Try the saline spray rather than the drops if you haven't yet (Sterimar). Nurofen to help with any pain/inflammation. Maybe try a different snot sucker as I usually could get stuff out with one (we used the nose frida). Also the Calpol plug ins. But I think a lot of it is just time unfortunately.

Get the Vicks paediatric humidifier , cold steam so safe for a babies room. Hands down on my top 3 parenting purchases , it’s helped many a cold / cough disturbed night in our house.

We found the best snot sucker was one that connected to the hoover hose as this worked much better than other version. As someone else mentioned the saline spray tends to be more effective than the drops and I think we used one called Sterimar. The calpol vapour plug-in also works well, although is expensive for the refills.

Absolutely the snot sucker that attaches to the vacuum cleaner! So much better.

We're currently going through this now. Not sure which snot sucker you have but we've been using nose frida (baby hates it) but it gets the job done and allows her to breathe.

Hope your little one gets well soon
