Neocate formula - silent reflux

Looking to connect with mothers who have their babies on Neocate and omeprazole for their baby.

My baby is 3 months, 2 weeks ago i met a woman who said her son had silent reflux when he was a baby. We compared symptoms and it was like describing the same baby. I was at my wits end feeling terrible for my LO. She said her baby was put on neocate and she stopped breastfeeding. So, i found that you can buy it online and did exactly that.

1 day in, huge results. Baby was so much happier, started smiling. Less screams, clutching fists etc etc. He would now fall asleep stationary , and eat better, sleep better. A breakthrough.

He was born at 80 percentile and dropped to 20 before omeprazole. Through staying home all day and Letting him snack every hour i kept his weight at around 25 percentile.

Finally the doctor can see the issue and we've been referred to the hospital dietition. But they say GP can't prescribe Neocate. They gave us Aptamil Pepti 1 and after 2 days i said no more, he was deteriorating again. I can't watch that.

The doctor wants us to do 2 weeks of it. I can't bring myself to do it. His weight will drop, he will suffer. I saw it after only 2 days.

The referral is going to take around 2 months for hospital.

My question is, what do i need to know about giving him Neocate, what is normal. I know green poop is ok. Do we need to suppliment him ?

What is your experience ? I'm worried about weaning given the experience so far. Im also considering a private allergy test.

Any advice appreciated

I would t bother with a private allergy test personally. There's no test for CMPA as far as I know, it's usually diagnosed through elimination.

Have you read the NICE guidelines on suspected CMPA? They give you a good outline of what your GP should be doing Flowers
