Does this look like eczema?

My ds has this on his stomach. He also has patches like this over his arms and legs and in his creases. He had something similar on his face a couple of weeks ago but it's cleared up now. Does this look like eczema? I've put Aveeno on it to keep it moisturised and will take it him to the doctors if it doesn't start to clear up. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar on their dc?

Forgot to say he's 17 weeks tomorrow.

I’d take him to the doctor. Looks like eczema to me but baby rashes should always be checked by a doctor!
Worth looking at if you’ve done anything different (like started formula, changed washing powder etc) if it is eczema to see if you can get to the root cause. We didn’t really do this when my LO started with eczema and now going to a private allergy doctor to try to figure it out as it’s gotten worse.

Thank you for your reply. It turns out my ds is allergic to aveeno! Stopped putting it on him and the rash has gone. Never thought he'd be allergic to something like that so I'm going to have to think of something else to moisturise him with instead.

We had the same problem with aveeno with our 4 month old, have been using aquaphor healing ointment and it's made a significant improvement

@ISolemnlySwearIAmUpToNoGood thank you, I'll give that a go instead. I was really shocked when I realised the aveeno was causing it as I thought it was so gentle.

Yes we were too as MIL swore it had worked miracles for one of the other DGC but ended up making things worse for DS

Oat is one of the top 14 allergens. You will probably have to be careful when introducing oat when weaning.

It's generally advised not to used creams with food ingredients like oat and coconut until they have had them directly.

My friends son also reacted to aveeno and oats when weaning but by 12 months he has outgrown it

Cetraben is what the gp might prescribe, you can also buy it on Amazon
