How long did the pulling things out stage last? How much of your home/ what areas did you baby proof?

I can’t fully remember when my little one started pulling things out, it must have been around 8-9 months when she was on the move. Shes now almost 2 and has got a lot better but still likes to pick things up and move them to different places. I’ve only just baby proofed my kitchen and her bedroom.
She likes to touch things but is really good with standing back and letting go when I ask. In the kitchen she now likes to try hand me plates so I’m worried she will hurt herself so that’s why I’ve baby proofed now.
Shes in a toddler bed so her room is baby proofed to stop her opening the drawers and climbing.

I can’t remember how long it lasted, it certainly felt like a long time! My older two hadn’t done it but my third was a monster for emptying out every cupboard and drawer he could reach. We had a few in the kitchen that weren’t good for him to get into so we got some fantastic magnetic cupboard locks (highly recommend) or just moved things round so the stuff at his level was safe. We let him get on with the others as it kept him occupied and he really loved having a rummage. E.g. if your Tupperware or water bottles are stored at baby level they love it. We only did the kitchen and then had a stairgate so we knew he wasn’t getting upstairs on his own.

We have magnetic child locks, they're so good as long as you don't lose the magnet!
All kitchen drawers and cupboards, a child lock on the oven as my youngest used to pull himself up on the grill part and broke the door!

And mainly I put stair gates everywhere. One on the kitchen door was my favourite.

One trick is to have one cupboard with like tupperware or plastic stuff in that they can empty, then your only dealing with one cupboard being emptied and no risk of dangerous objects being found.
