Easter Egg Hunt? Silly question ...

Poppychick · 22/03/2008 11:19

I have bought some small wrapped eggs for my DD (3) and DS (1) along with some crafty type presents.

I want to hide the eggs around the living room for them to find. Thought of putting 2 in each place as DS is too young really but DD can find and give one to him.

What are you doing for your little ones? Want the day to be fun for them ...

i will be hiding little chocolate eggs around the house and doing clues for them to work out where the eggs are.
DS1 10 and DS2 8 will be able to help DD1 4 and DD2 3.

Love clues idea but mine are too young I think

we do hunts in the house too.

we name the eggs now, so if an egg is found by one of them without their name, they put it back......ensures that they all get the same amount of eggs as otherwise obviously the elder ones will get rather lucky whioe the younger ones cry cos they can;t find anything.

when they were really tiny, the older ones were told that theirs were hidden properly, and if they could see them without moving something, then that particular egg wasn;t for them!!!

also, I put up arrows leading them to places around the house......and this year we are plannig it treasure hunt style with clues

Definitely hide eggs, but make them pool the spoils and share out afterwards. Some in really easy places and big ones a bit trickier. I love Easter egg hunts - outside unless it's raining.

Happy Easter all.

we are painting eggs

and then rolling them down the hill

also decorating plain chocolate ones

then eating them!

I am doing a clue based hunt too (DC are 12,11,9 & 7)

Then later in the day I will hide some little treats all over garden/house and let them have a second hunt.

Have fun

I am doing a clue hunt.

Our dog is going to write out the clues (ok we are a bit twee in this house) and the eggs (small) will be hidden around the garden / woodshed etc. Clues written from dog's point of view.

Trust me, my son will like it! yet also

ooh....if not too late......last year we went to aldi's and got egg cups to paint, whcih they all loved doing. It was £2.99 (i think?) for 4 egg cups including the paints.

no idea if they will have them this year, but you may find them in another type of shop.....tescos does 'paint your own tea set' kits so may have them.

mine did loads and gave them to their friends as easter pressies with a kinder egg inside

aw that's cute No19 - I like it!

Garden hunt for us, except we have snow which will make it tough for the Easter Bunny to hide her tracks

Poppychick · 22/03/2008 11:54

Thanks love the painting ideas - may pop out today.

Too cold for garden hunt but would be nice. We're going to hide in the living room. Love that dog idea too.

I love the dog clues too, A lovely idea.
We dont have a dog, wonder if clues writen by a goldfish would work?

When we were little (my sister and I) we used to wake up to a trail of Mini Eggs from our bedroom door, down the stairs, to the living room - then our eggs would be hidden. We were told that we could only take every other one so that we got an equal amount and I think my sister just copied me as she was younger.

Just thought I'd tell you for another idea to add on
