What age did your little one stop napping?

My 22 month old seems to be dropping the lunchtime nap. He's mostly refusing it now and is wide awake so it's impossible to get him down, but he is then quite overtired late afternoon and early evening. He's going to bed earlier than usual to account for the dropped nap. He just seems so young to drop the nap! Just wondering when others stopped napping? I'm getting myself a bit worried that not having a nap won't be good for him, but equally I can't make him sleep!

DD is 2yrs 7months and still does a solid 2hr nap on a weekend. During the week (she is in FT childcare) she probably naps 3-4 out of 5 days? But nursery seem to enforce a "rest period" on her bed if she doesnt feel like a nap, which is fine by me! 😅

There was definitely a nap regression with us around 2 where she was fighting it but it was so clear that she wasnt ready to be awake all day, so i just kept powering on and now we are back in a napping routine. She's a much happier child when she's had a nap. Lights out for us is at 7.30pm and she wakes around 7.45am so it hasn't affected nighttime sleep yet.

DD dropped her daytime nap for the most part at about 2yrs 2 months. Largely because almost all the other kids in her nursery room had stopped napping so she didn't want to.

She still had a short nap on the days she didn't go to nursery, especially if we were in the car in the middle of the day, for about another six months or so. She seemed to need about 1 or 2 naps a week for a while after she dropped them being every day.

Annoyingly the app won't let me edit. Should say 3yrs 1m above.

About the same age. He occasionally would have a mid afternoon cat-nap in the car for a bit afterwards. He slept at the childminder as they all had to lie down in a dark room, he was up until 9pm on those days.

My youngest stopped napping at 13 months! There was just too much happening with the older siblings and she was so captivated by them. She went to bed at 6.15 though and slept through until around 7. Unless she was woken up by one of the captivating siblings!!

Haven't read all the replies but during leaps close to two mine went through a brief nap refusal phase. I persisted with car and pushchair naps (as cot just never happened) and still got them aged 3-3.5 so it was temporary and I'm glad I didn't just stop the opportunity to nap.

DC1 - 2y 6m
DC2 - 4y 3m!
DC3 - 3y

I probably could have done this but nap time came off night time sleep time and I liked the 11 hours at night. He would only sleep 9/9:30pm to 7am on childcare days after a nap.

@sexnotgenders I'm all for naps and even my five year old has an hour after school on a Friday but a 34 month? 2.5 or 2 hours unattended in a cot. So nearly 3. How are you getting them into a sleeping bag? And how do they not take it off and climb out? That's impressive.

My favourite nap is all five of us in together couple of hours.

All these 2 hour nappers 😩 my 2 year old has never done more than an hour in her whole life

DD is 2y 3 months and naps most days for 1.5 hours but goes through phases where she won’t nap for a few days then goes back to napping. We’re in such a phase at the moment, at least I hope it is a phase and not just that she has dropped her nap now! But she does usually have a longer night sleep if she doesn’t nap.
