Advice - leaving baby for first time

So my DD is 4 months old and i've booked a hair colouring appointment for this coming week. I haven't had my hair done since before I got pregnant, I turn 30 soon and really want to treat myself to nice hair for the occasion (it is a total mess right now with really bad roots!) I don't want to take her with me as I don't want her around the chemicals and I don't think it's polite to the hairdresser to keep interrupting them working to tend to baby.

I haven't yet left baby and I know both she and I need to get used to it, i'm just so so nervous about it. She'll be with a trusted relative and I have no fears over her safety, I think I'm just worried that because i'm all she knows she'll be upset without me there. I just love her so much and I hate the thought of her wondering where her mama has gone.

I know it's something we need to do eventually and I don't want to be a helicopter parent. Has anyone any advice/ experience on this? Were your babies fine without you for a few hours the first time?

She will be absolutely fine! As will you once you get there 😊 the build up is a lot worse than the actual experience.
I found it weird to be away but actually so nice to not have to deal with baby admin, like I could just leave the house with my handbag! You can then enjoy the cuddles when you get back too after having a break.

She'll be fine. It can be daunting leaving your baby for the first time. Try building it up (if you get the chance) by going to the shops without her or going on an errand that won't take you too long.

By the time you have your hair appointment, you might be able to just sit back and enjoy it!

The thought of it can be worse than actually doing it. She'll be fine and you deserve a break!
