12mo vaccines worry?

Firstly my DS has an egg and milk allergy and someone at playgroup mentioned that one has milk and her cousin daughter had to have it at the hospital? His appt is tomorrow so I rung the drs to be sure and the nurse said, worryingly she didn’t know it had egg in and I should wait to speak to the dr before going ? Which is annoying as I’ve got the rest of the week free to look after him.

i absolutely hate taking him, he scream for a full hour last time and I just couldn’t settle him and is 4! He was also off it for a couple days and the injection site was really red and lumped for months. Should I expect the same?

thabks in advance

MMR is grown on egg, but is safe for egg allergy.

When mine had their jabs, I imagined how much worse it would be to nurse them through polio, whooping cough, measles etc. No one likes jabs but it's worth it.

Thank you two, he had them this morning and surprisingly only cried for about 20 seconds. Brave boy

Glad you have had it!

We had my daughters vaccines at the hospital for other reasons but she also has an egg allergy. The consultant said they only worry if a child has had an ICU admission due to an anaphylaxis reaction to egg. Even then they will likely be able to have it just in a controlled environment. Generally if you fine being in a room with an egg you are likely to be fine
