Climbing on table / nightmare mealtimes

DD is, and has always been, an absolutely fearless climber and was climbing before she was walking. She's two and a bit now and has zero fear.

We always sit down to dinner. DD eats tea at nursery and sometimes won't eat anything and sometimes will eat. We never pressurise her either way, but we insist we do sit down together even if she wanders around the dining room. She eats what we do.

We have used a trip trapp since she was a baby. We took off the baby seat about six months ago as she was clearly wanting to get out. However she usually will only sit on the trip trapp for about a minute tops. She then either wants to sit on my lap to eat, or on the chair next to her Dad. Either would be ok but she'll then climb across the table to get to either of us, or sit and play with whatever food is on the table or on our plates. Nothing seems to deter her. I have tried just about every strategy to get her to stop doing this and nothing seems to work. I lost it this evening as she kept sticking her hands in the salad and nearly fell off the table although DP says he was holding her. Please help as everything I've tried hasn't worked. She is apparently impeccably behaved at nursery and eats all her meals there with gusto.

She's probably tired and if she isn't hungry there seems little point in making her sit at the table.

If she is eating, my two had booster seats after they grew out of the high chair. They strapped to a dining chair and the child was clipped in to the seat. They couldn't climb out.

Hiya thank you for your reply @Seeline - we also tried a booster seat but she's also like Houdini and was straight out of that one. The trip trapp she can climb straight out of and get down if she wants, and she's free to wander about but she just wants to get on the table and sit there. This also applies to any other mealtimes like breakfast at the weekend.

Remove her with a stern no, and assume she has finished her meal?
