Please can anyone give me some easy weaning food ideas for my 7month hes just coming onto lumpy foods, not doing baby led weaning yet as he doesnt seem ready, not putting his teethers round his mouth let alone food.
please don't judge as I'm a anxious mum and do worry if I'm doing everything right for him😔 Thank you kindly. x

I’m not really in to BLW either but my baby loves feeding themself omelette strips, toast strips and thick American style pancakes (recipe from a Charlotte stirling reed weaning book) I really don’t find it stressful. We don’t do anything else BLW.
another favourite is Greek yoghurt with a fruit puree mixed in or peanut butter mixed in.
mashed up weetabix is another with mashed banana in it.

I’ve got two weaning books that have tonnes of recipes.
annabel Karmel one and Charlotte Stirling reed, definitely worth the money for the recipe ideas.

@Matildasfortune thank you very much for your comment, these are very good ideas love the omelete strips! the Greek yogurt is a quick easy one love that one alot 😂 most fruit goes with it, never tried peanut butter though will give that one a go :) x

What do you eat yourself? If they’re past the single veg/fruit puree and allergen introducing phase could you mash up some of your dinner? Saves making two things, just don’t put extra salt or sugar in 😊
Breakfast wise I second wheatabix with fruit mashed in, yogurt and mashed banana (bananas are also good intro finger food for when you feel confident to give them!), porridge (there’s so many things you can add to this).

Porridge, weetabix, mashed potato, scrambled egg, smashed avocado - would he eat rice or orzo? The Charlotte Sterling Reed book is really good for helping you move from purees into more textured food and then proper little meals!

I think I may get the book thank you all, im still trying to help him put food to his mouth as he's not doing so yet I've tried him with toast he sucks it at the moment and banana, biscuit, melty sticks thats with me putting it to his mouth x

Easiest for me we're mashed banana/banana & avocado (no cooking necessary!). Also cut a butternut squash in half lengthways, scoop out seeds, put face down on tray lined with grease proof paper and bake in the oven for about 30 mins until soft enough to scoop flesh out of the skin and mash

I spoon fed DT’s and weaned them on jars and pouches - worked our way through all ranges for the different age groups.

I'm starting to think he's not interested in solids so I don't really know what to do I'm trying different things daily any advice would be so helpful thank you everyone x

Love this.... Very anti-MN vibe.

Tbh I just pureed or mashed anything fruity or veggie at that age, that we were eating ourselves and spoon fed. No fist eating allowed here! Turns my stomach. Yoghurts, jelly (gasp), custard, and yes, the odd jar or sachet when travelling or out and about, or when available foods not suitable.

OP, don't t stress. Easier said than done these days, but go with your instincts, and your lifestyle and your baby will be fine.
