Lightweight pushchair recommendations

Son is 28 months and walks really well (can walk about 2 miles) but if we're doing other things like going for a play in the park or walking to the swimming pool, he'll be tired out afterwards.

I try to work our days around a little lunch stop so that he has a rest and then can walk home but I think I need a lightweight pushchair. I really like the freedom of walking without our big oyster pram, so I'm looking for something lightweight but which moves well. I've also seen these trike style ones with a handle but I'm not sure. They look a bit of a faff to handle.

Any recommendations? Any price range- just want the easiest one to cart about.

Hi OP. We have a Smartrike and whilst fun the push is nowhere near as smooth as a pram, and it's not convenient to fold down. I wouldn't want to be carting it around when it's not in use. You'll want something easy to flip down so a super compact pram is your best bet. Can't give too much advice - have the Chicco Goody and it's fine but im sure the others are too tbh.
Maybe consider the GB Pockit...? Ultra small fold and weight and would work in swimming pool lockers, big backpacks etc

Thanks. This was my worry about the trike style ones. Hadn't heard of the GB pockit but looking at it online it's very similar to a super compact one we keep in the car boot and I hate it. It's no fun to push around but we keep it in the car for emergencies.

Really I need something that's a good compromise between lightweight/slimline and good manoeuvrability. It doesn't need to be anything gimmicky that can fold up into your back pocket. Swimming pool not an issue as they let you park them in a space in the changing area.

Around here the most popular ones are the Yoyo and Bugaboo Butterfly. I have the Yoyo and it's great.

Baby jogger city tour 2, 100%. Lightweight, folds small, easy to manoeuvre. And the main thing really is the seat is huge which I would imagine is important for you given your toddler is already over two and you’ll want to use it for a while yet.

Thanks everyone, that's really helpful. Some names I've not heard of that I'll have a look at

We have the Joie Pact as our travel pushchair, and one thing to be aware of is that it only goes up to 15 kg, so depending on what centiles your son is on, you might not get that long out of it. Most of the others mentioned go to higher weights.
