I've just bought a bumgenius to try - it's fab!
Puts on like a disposable - tabs are stretchy.

I like the new fuzzi bunz but my DD2 is older and a chunky monkey.

Even her 11 year old sister can manage a nappy change with the FB's

bumgenius are so eassssssyyyyy. Any pockets are easy really and you can boost more than having to make do with what comes in an aio iyswim.

I used a good mix of pockets full time for 8 months. The best (by far) I found were pocket bots you get a very helpful and personal service too which is a huge help when you are dealing with pocket nappies which can be a bit of a minefield. I never once had a leak with these and they are very well made too. They also come in loads of different colours and patterns if you like that sort of thing .

I also tried
Mommy's Touch - got some leaks, difficult to fit if you aren't used to them so childminder / babysitter may struggle to get a good fit.

Swaddlesbees - nice and slim, leaked occassionally. You have to buy the swaddlebees inserts though so that limits you on choice, price etc

Fuzzi Bunz - occassional leaks, leg elastic seemed to go pretty quickly on these though.

Lollipop - bit bulky for day use
Minkis - same as lollipop

Wonderoos (by Hip Hip Baby) - these are a birth to potty and I have recently used them on newborns and very active toddlers with a lot of success. Don't bother with their own inserts though - they fall to pieces.

A have a friend who is using bumgenius and is finding issues with the workanship - not sure how long the velcro and leg elastic will last from her experience.

Insert-wise Green Acre Design (GAD) inserts are fantastic, avoid hemp inserts unless you buy second hand or want to do a lot of prewashing. Supermarket value microfibre dishcloths make excellent, cheap boosters. I don't use a hemp insert without one on top to quickly soak up the liquid (hemp takes a while to absorb). The dishcloths fit neatly inside a GAD insert too. Nappyzone sells GAD inserts I think. I also used prefolds for inserts and found them too bulky. Bamboo inserts are good too.

Good luck

Buy HemPresto (look at hempresto.co.uk) you could boost them with bamboo instead of hemp if you wanted they are fabulous as reliable as a 2 piece come apart and wash like a 2 piece. I never got on iwth pockets always got leaks every few nappies

I bought some green kids pockets recently from nappyzone and a happy heineys one size and we love them here.

and fuzzibunz.....but DHs/inlaws/babysitters not keen on the poppers.

I got two bumgenius V2, and while I like the stretchy tabs and they go on pretty much like a disposable, the pocket is a bit awkward I think and they seem very bulky in front (you get that fat old lady look in trousers).

for an older baby I would avoid a 2 part system...if they are anything like my wriggly 9mo old DD. She isn't still long enough to get a pocket nappy on, never mind a two parter.

How about Itti Bitti D'Lish? You can get them at Twinkle in the web. They are trim fitting, very easy to use and very, very absorbent.
Bumgenius are fab as well.
