When does your 1yo last eat before bed?

Just wondering as my 16mo eats her last meal in nursery/at grandparents around 4.30-4.45ish and then usually goes to sleep around 7.30.

She is still breastfeeding so she normally has a feed when I pick her up and then feeds to sleep. She still wakes multiple times a night has a quick feed/uses me as a dummy back to sleep.

Just wondering whether others give anything more after nursery etc and whether you've found it's improved sleep at all?

We used to do toast/ cereal/ porridge before bed. In fact we still do (now 8 and 6)

We used to give ours some weetabix before bed. They had supper from about 9 months.

Ours has tea at nursery about 4.30pm. He has dinner at home at 6.15pm. Then milk then snack (usually an oat bar or biscuit). More milk then bed. He doesn't always want it all, depends on his appetite that day. Hes 17 months. Have done this since he started nursery at 13 months. Hope that helps :)

Our 18 month old is offered dinner with us (usually between 6 and 6:30pm) then it’s bath, bottle of milk and bed. Sometimes has an additional bottle at night but it may be more for comfort than hunger. Sleep has been terrible for months due to constant teething and illnesses (and maybe developmental stuff too) so can’t say if extra dinner before bed helps or not.

Thanks everyone. It just dawned on me that it was quite a long evening compared with the intervals she normally eats at, not even including the whole rest of the night.

It's hard because she still breastfeeds on demand but will do that for comfort etc so it's not always clear if she's hungry or not outside of her 3 meals.

Maybe I'll try introducing some peanut butter on toast mid-evening 🤔

When mine were 1 they were always in bed by around 6 (still are at 2!) purely because they're early risers and are totally wiped out by that time... I'd rather them stay up later Smile and sleep in later...

So dinner has always been around 4pm and then they have a banana and an oaty biscuit around an hour before bed and milk at bedtime.

Thanks everyone :) I just find it so hard to fit it all into the evening isn't it, once you've finished work and collected them.

Offered her toast last night while we had dinner, she didn't want it 😂🙄

I would make a small bowl of porridge and offer it. Sometimes it was eaten and sometimes it wasn't. As soon as we stopped the night feeds and he was only breastfeeding in the morning and before bed, he started accepting the porridge. If he didn't he just ate more at breakfast.

She'll not be eating it because she's topping up through the night on milk. Her appetite will increase whenever you're ready to drop the night feeds.
