My DD 2 has developed curly hair and I am at a loss with what to do, it will usually ringlet however I am finding more and more she wakes up with it like this and then I worry about brushing it through as I don't want to break it and usually lather on the detangler but I almost feel it's not helping.

I currently use child's farm for curly hair and a wide tooth comb in the bath and then leave it but it just seems to get getting worse.

I literally have no idea where this hair came from and have no idea who to ask for help with it, thank you

Hopefully someone who is an expert might be able to help!

But from my experience, she may just have grown out of her ringlets! My ds had curls but now his hair is wavy-straight. I don't know when it happened tbh! Probably at about 3yo.

I have wavy hair and have to brush it out and dry it for it not to look messy. I'd give that a try maybe.

I do have a friend whose dd still has her ringlets. She just doesn't wash it too often and refreshes it with some sort of spray every day.

I think you could be right it's very curly in places and then straight in other parts... Think business in the front and party in the back 🤣

My daughter has curly hair we use the child's farm curly hair shampoo bar once or twice a week (if we have had a swimming lesson) and we use their curly hair leave in conditioner usually once a day sometimes twice. If we can we only brush her hair when it's wet out got conditioner through it and the scrunch it up and it goes back to ringlets again. Her hair is slow growing and even at 3.5 hasn't come close to her shoulders and is finer than your daughter's

It was a learning curve for me as my hair is poker straight and never curls no matter how much I try. I'm happy to be corrected by anyone with more experience of curly hair

Okay so I think I'm going wrong by washing it and conditioning it everyday so may start every other day now and I am also thinking of stopping child's farm and using the my little coco curling products x

I have a DD with very curly hair and always woke up so tangled. Advice from curly in laws was always to plait or a little ponytail at night and that really helped.

Also lots of conditioner every bath and rarely shampoo. Wide toothed comb and spray bottle with water in it. It’s a learning curve! Good luck.

A satin or silk pillowcase can help stop the frizziness overnight.
If you want to look into a full curl routine - look up the curly girl method

My DD has curly hair. I used the my little coco shampoo, child’s farm leave in conditioner spray and my little coco curling custard when styling. I always spray the conditioner spray in when I brush it in the mornings.

I found her hair was breaking a lot so I started using a bit of Elvive coconut oil (what I use in my hair) in her hair after I’ve washed it and it’s make it much better and gets rid of the frizz.

Thanks all I used the coco hair custard last night and her hair already looks so much better so I'm off to use my boots points on the shampoo and conditioner! I am trying to not brush her hair in the morning as it just annoys her but could probably get a wide tooth comb through it at breakfast lol

My DD has very curly hair and when she wakes up with birds nest hair (most mornings) I use the Little Angels detangler from Asda. Most detanglers I've found are for use with wet hair but this one can be used wet or dry so we spray that on and then use a wooden comb to brush it through.

So after this morning I have got some of the coco shampoo and conditioner and I'm going to give it a whirl with the curling custard too, I really did like the child's farm but I wonder if maybe her hair became a bit to used to it if that's a thing?

Pic of her hair today it looks much better

My dd is 3 and hair is curly ( large ringlets) probably not the correct thing to do but when it was really tangly I put morrocan oil in it and it combs out lovely. I use a ' Wet' hair brush too. Also just had her hair cut and it's kept the curls and much easier to manage. X
