Travel pushchair?! Travel tips with kids in general?!

Disclaimer: myself and DH haven't been abroad since we were kids (obviously with our respective families) and never together!! We've booked a blow out family holiday for us and two kids to a 5 star luxury resort for end of May May/June for a week.

Kids will be 4.5 (approaching 5y/o) and JUST turned 1. I figure we'll need a pushchair for travelling around the airport and the resort (it's massive). No idea where to start or what would be best. Any suggestions? (I have an iCandy peach so there's no way this would be practical for travel).

A cheap umbrella fold. There's a few on Amazon. You don't want it to be too big and to not be too bothered if it gets battered by the baggage handlers

Recently got a Bugaboo butterfly for my 2yo for holidays and days out. It's so good. I've been really impressed. Small one hand fold and can fit in overhead lockers. Huge seat size and really plush comfy materials. Good basket. Reclines quite flat for naps and has a large wide hood (hoods on other travel prams like yoyo I found far too small!)

One that can fit in the overhead lockers can be really useful be you can use it as soon as you step off the plane. You don’t have to carry the sleeping one year old through the immigration queue.
If you have a baby carrier, bring it. You’ll thank me when your child falls asleep just before landing and you have to carry them plus hand luggage down the plane’s stairs.

@DappledThings, I'll look into an umbrella fold. Ideally I'd want one to fold up so it could be used in hand luggage.

@TerroristToddler I've had a quick Google of the butterfly. It's on the more pricey side and, as I'd only be using it for a week, I wanted something considerably cheaper. My search will continue...

@CoffeeatIKEA, great shout with the carrier. We do have one. I was going to pack in the main case rather than carry on though but definitely agree that it might come in handy in the airport so might rethink this!!

I recommend the bugaboo butterfly or Joolz set. They are expensive but you will end up using it way more than just this week if you get a good one.

Could you look on marketplace to get it second hand but a more reasonable price? Alternatively just buy a cheap stroller if it’s short journeys and your dc is 1.

We got an ergobaby metro+ deluxe when we took our 6 month old to Turkey. We bought it new because I couldn’t find one on marketplace with the short time before we went. Someone had recommended it to us as good for travelling. It’s got lots of padding and lies flat so it worked really well for the airport and naps on the go. Minor point is it’s more faffier folding it compared to other travel pushchairs.

The Yoyo is amazing for travel.

I had (ten years ago..) a quinny zapp for holidays. Umbrella fold but I swear it was the smallest thing I've ever seen. Might be able to find one second hand on marketplace?
